(1)Where a person who is an escaped convict or is undergoing a sentence of imprisonment is sentenced again to imprisonment, the latter sentence of imprisonment must begin either immediately or at the end of the imprisonment to which he²⁰²¹the person²⁰²¹ was previously sentenced, as the court awarding the sentence directs.

(2)A death sentence must be carried out despite a pending sentence of imprisonment.

(3)Nothing in subsection (1) may be held to excuse a person from any part of the punishment to which he²⁰²¹the person²⁰²¹ is liable upon his²⁰²¹the person’s²⁰²¹ former or subsequent conviction.
